Casa Azerbaiyán Celebrates Sant Jordi Day

Sant Jordi Day — also known as the Day of the Rose (El Dia de la Rosa) and the Day of the Book (El Dia del Llibre) — is one of Catalonia’s most cherished traditions. On April 23, 2017, Casa Azerbaiyán in Barcelona joined the celebrations with a special initiative.

As part of the event, more than 200 Azerbaijani literary works translated into Spanish and an equal number of roses were gifted to the residents of Barcelona. The action, held in the heart of the city, was warmly welcomed and attracted great interest from the local community.

This initiative not only introduced both classical and modern Azerbaijani literature to Spanish readers but also aimed to strengthen cultural bridges and foster friendship between Azerbaijan and Catalonia.

Participants received insights into the rich heritage of Azerbaijani literature, and representatives of the local community highly praised the effort.
